Groundworks Sponsors Parachute for Pets 11|52 Formal
You can’t beat the special bond between humans and their pets. Animals hold a special place in our hearts, and we want to support humans and pets in need.
Our team at Groundworks proudly sponsored the Parachute for Pets 11|52 Formal to raise awareness and funds for this special need in our area. The inaugural event was held on Sept. 14, 2024, at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology’s Macdonald Hall.
Helping One Paw At a Time
Parachutes for Pets is a Calgary-based non-profit that recognizes the profound connection between humans and their animal companions. The organization actively works to strengthen community support networks that safeguard this vital bond.
It focuses on helping low-income pet owners enhance their animals’ health and well-being through a range of accessible services. These include a pet food bank with customized hampers, vaccine and wellness clinics for preventive care, grooming assistance to maintain pet hygiene, and emergency pet packs for unexpected situations.
Through these programs, the organization aims to ensure that financial constraints don’t compromise the quality of care pets receive or sever the meaningful relationships between people and their beloved animals.
A Paws-itively Magical Night
This was the first year for the formal event, which was a huge success. Along with games, a silent auction, dancing, and delicious food, one of the highlights of the evening was its hosts: Calgary Flames legends Mikael Backlund and Mackenzie Weegar.
Our team was honored to participate in and support such a wonderful cause with many kindred spirits by our side.
